Introduction to Agility for FUN!!

This 6 week course is for the dog and handler team who have no prior agility experience and are interested in agility just to have fun and/or confidence building, not in preparation for competition.  Emphasis will be on clicker shaping, start-line stays, sit, recall to side, and basic foundation skills for agility obstacles with a focus on obstacle safety.

Prerequisites:                                                                                                                                                                      **A people/dog friendly dog and a happy handler (no aggressive dogs, please)   ** Your dog/puppy must be at least 6 months of age and in generally good health.     ** Supplies: Small, soft treats, a clicker (optional), buckle collar and 6 ft leash- no flexi-leads.   ** Current on Vaccinations

This class will be held at the Kenton County Paw Park/Pioneer Park on Madison Pike, Covington, KY.  Due to the requirements of the City of Covington and the Paw Park falling under those requirements, we’ll be unable to accept any Pitt bull Terrier or Pitt bull Terrier mixes into the class.

Cost – $100 per dog/handler team.  Only one dog per handler, please. A portion of each student’s enrollment will be donated to the Paw Park.

Class Dates-

Fridays, June 25 – July 30 2010

**Morning class is from 10:30- 11:30   ** Evening class is from 6:30-7:30

In the event of rain outs for this class, we’ll meet the following week as scheduled and add make-up classes on at the end of the 6 week class for Sunday afternoon/evenings.

Fridays, Aug 6 – Sept 10 2010

Registration is through Northern Kentucky K9, LLC and will be on a first come basis.  Payment is due at registration to secure a slot in the class. Each class will be limited to 10 handler/dog teams.

Registration will begin May 26, 2010.   To register – mail your check or money order to -Northern KY K9, LLC., PO Box 267,  Independence, KY 41051.  As stated above, enrollment will be on a first come basis so don’t wait!

For your enrollment to be accepted please include the following information-

Your Name, Address, Phone Number, Email Address, Dog’s Name, Age, Breed, Gender, Class start date and time you’re requesting and a copy of your dog’s current vaccinations or titer results as recommended by your veterinarian with a minimum of Distemper/Parvo and Rabies.
