Training Options
 The
following training programs are designed to teach dogs and owners at
different levels. In order for all of our programs to be successful, it
is imperative for owner(s) to work at home to change patterns and
behaviors as instructed by the trainer. Your willingness to incorporate
the obedience commands into everyday life, as instructed by your
trainer, is crucial for success. The time and energy you invest will
determine how much you and your dog are able to accomplish. The
following is a breakdown of what each training program offers you and
your dog.

**FREE**
K9 Evaluation
Are
you uncertain of what program meets your needs? We offer an optional,
FREE evaluation to assist you. This is a private session with you, your
dog and a professional trainer, lasting approximately 45 minutes.
During this session several questions will be asked to gather
information on your dog’s background, learn what training goals you
have for you and your dog and the time frame desired. At this time we
will also observe the interactions of your dog. This will assist us in
determining your dog’s personality and temperament so we will be able
to recommend a training program that best suits both you and your dog’s
needs.

the household; having a dog that jumps on your guests, pulls you down
the street, eats food off of the counters and races out the front door
with you chasing after him.

We dream of a dog being a true
companion to us, taking
our dog places with us, going for peaceful walks in the neighborhood,
playing ball or hiking in the park and having our dog be a happy part
of our day to day lives.

Private
Lessons
One
on one, exclusive time dedicated to you and your dog, tailored to your
specific needs. Private lessons ensure your dog will be the focus of
the trainer’s attention at all times. These sessions can be used to
continue building upon an already established training program
foundation or to begin establishing obedience with your dog. You’ll
have the freedom to choose when, the frequency and where the sessions
will take place based on your availability and goals.
Rate ranges from $75-$150 per session.
Note: Rate does not apply to dogs with aggression.
Private
lessons can be purchased in a package or session by session. Rates
determined during evaluation is based on training goals and number of
lessons scheduled in advance.
Do you have two dogs in need of
training? Ask your
trainer about our "Share a Session" program. If your dogs are eligible,
you may be able to train two dogs during the same private lesson for
only an additional $15 per session. Applicable to On Leash Private

Residency
Programs - (Day Camp or Boarding School)
If
you and your family can’t stand to part with your dog for the length of
the training program we offer day camp for each of the programs. Simply
drop your dog off in the morning and pick them up after work. Your dog
will be trained during their stay with us and all the training will be
transitioned to you at the end of the training program.
Have you run out of patience or need
your dog trained
quickly? Do you have a busy, hectic schedule that may not allow for you
to do the training your canine companion needs? Perhaps you just feel
more comfortable putting your pooch’s training in the hands of a
professional? A residency program may be just the thing for you. Your
dog will be trained in a variety of environments, including with
outside distractions and in real life situations.
Going on vacation or out of town for
a business trip?
Consider sending your dog to school while you're away. Vacation with
the peace of mind knowing your canine companion is not only in great
hands but also learning new manners and come home to a well-behaved dog!

Off
Leash Residency Programs
Your
dog will learn to behave when off leash, allowing you to have fun with
your dog while still having the control you need to keep them safe.

Your dog will learn the Do’s and Don’ts!
Loose leash walking
for when you need it- no matter who is walking them
“Come” - every time you call them!
“Wait” to prevent bolting through
doors or tripping you up or down the stairs
“Sit” & “Down” and to hold
it until you release them
“Place”
command; a crate without walls - giving your dog a place to go to when
company arrives so they can greet them politely or to wait patiently
while your family eats dinner
We’ll also work through problem
behaviors and teach
your dog what not to do; not to jump on people, bark uncontrollably,
eat off of the countertops or tables and to stay off the furniture if
you don’t want them on it.
At the end of your dog’s stay with
us, we’ll need you
to plan on spending at least 2 hours with us so we can transition your
happy, well-behaved dog’s training over to you.

Intermediate Off Leash Training - 7 day

Your dog will learn loose leash walking,
the “come” command- every time you call
them!, “wait” to prevent bolting through
doors and tripping you up or down the stairs, and the “place”
command; a crate without walls- giving your dog a place to go to when
company arrives so they can greet them politely or to wait patiently
while your family eats dinner. At the end of your dog’s stay with us,
we’ll need you to plan on spending at least 90 minutes with us so we
can
transition your happy, well-behaved dog’s training over to you.

Basic Off Leash Training - 5 day

Your dog will learn loose leash walking
for when you need it and the “come”
command, for when playing off leash- every time you call them! At the
end of your dog’s stay with us, we’ll need you to plan on spending at
least 1 hour with us so we can transition your happy, well-behaved
dog’s training over to you.

highly effective use of remote collars.
On
Leash Residency Training
Impress
your friends and family with your dog’s new skills. Take your normal
walks to the next level by working your dog through their obedience
commands and having control. This not only exercises your dog’s mind
but also helps identify you as the leader of the pack and allows you to
gain the respect of your dog.
Advanced On leash – 10 Day: 3 follow-up lessons
 This on leash program is designed to establish
and enhance effective dog/owner communication. Your dog will learn: HEEL
with Automatic-SIT, SIT and DOWN at your side with built in Stays, SIT
and DOWN in motion, SIT and DOWN from the front.
Your dog will be taught to respond to both verbal commands and hand
signals. During your three private follow up lessons, you will be
taught proper leash handling techniques and correct use of each
command. An emphasis will be placed on diversifying commands, working
around distractions and advice on handling unwanted behaviors.
Rate estimate: $1,020.00 + Boarding
Intermediate On leash – 5 Day: 2 follow-up lessons
This on leash program is designed to establish dog/owner communication
and give you on leash control. Your dog will learn: HEEL
with Automatic-SIT, SIT at your side, DOWN at your side with built in
Stays.
This program includes two follow up lessons in which you will be taught
proper leash handling techniques and insight into particular behavior
patterns and problems. Your two follow-up lessons must be completed
within 14 days of completion of the residency program.
Rate estimate: $640.00 + Boarding
Basic On Leash – 3 Day: 1 go home lesson
 This on leash program is designed to give you
basic on leash control. Your dog will learn: Loose Leash
walking and SIT at your side.
Upon completion your dog will be able to walk on a leash at your side
without pulling and to sit patiently. You will be given a thorough
lesson on these commands on the day you pick up your dog.
Rate estimate: $400.00 + Boarding
Cancellation
Policy
Your
success is important to us at NKY K9! To help you succeed, we have
planned and blocked a session or program time specifically for you
and/or your dog. Because of this, if your plans should change and
you’re unable to keep a scheduled session, please contact us as soon as
possible so that we may be able to utilize that time elsewhere. If
you’re
able to contact us 24 or more hours in advance for private sessions or
3 days in advance for residency programs, we’ll be happy to reschedule
your session or program without any cancellation fee. However, if you
must cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled private session or within
3 days of a residency program or do not notify us of your inability to
attend, we regret that we will be unable to reschedule or refund that
session or program without additional costs.
